HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

NOVEMBER 2019

PLEASE COME SUPPORT REFUGE FOR THE POOR ON

BLACK FRIDAY, SATURDAY AND MORE!

We know you will receive this just before Thanksgiving but the day after Thanksgiving is time for Christmas shopping! We will have our Cambodian items for sale at our home, 105 Tree Top Court, Warwick on Black Friday and Saturday 8-4 pm. We will also be selling after services at Davisville Church on December 8th and 15th. Come check out our scarves, jewelry, bags, clothing, toys and more! All proceeds help educate children in Cambodia. Don’t forget to ask for our cards to place inside your gift acknowledging the purchase helps to educate a child in Cambodia. (Pictured is just a small sampling of what is available!)

GOOD-BYE TO SAM AND JANINE

Sam Sem’s (pictured left purchasing stamps in Cambodia) year in Cambodia as a volunteer ended in September. She loved her time in Cambodia and hopes to return some day possibly to begin a business-related non-profit.

As we plan to be on the home front more often now promoting Refuge for the Poor and meeting with sponsors and donors, we will assume Janine McClaverty’s (pictured right) responsibilities.

We are so thankful for these two ladies who helped us so much and who were especially needed this past year and a half during Greg’s illness. We believe God put Sam in Cambodia to help give us an extra perspective on things while we were away. Janine not only assisted the needs of the organization, but was by our side during Greg’s illness. We praise God for bringing Sam and Janine to us and pray for what God has for them next.

BIRTHDAYS OFTEN BRING TEARS TO THOSE WHO ARE POOR

Almost every student who comes to live at one of our centers has never had a birthday celebration. So, often as you see Kanha here, they cry when they receive a cake. We are so thankful to those of you who sponsor and support our students at Refuge for the Poor. Your partnership gives these students a chance to step out of poverty through education. Many are spiritually impacted by the gospel and all are trained in the Bible. They then reach out to their communities to share the good news with others.

PRAYER REQUESTS

  1. With all praise to God, Greg’s scans were clear following his treatment plan. He is still experiencing some fatigue but regaining his strength. Thank you for your prayers!
  2. Please pray as we have run out of space already for new students and classrooms at the Refuge Center. We are praying that we can add another floor in the coming year.
  3. Please pray with us that God’s Light will reach far into and around the existing communities of each of our Centers – The Refuge Center, The Factory Worker Ministry, Mother’s Home, College Dorm and Sensok Center.
  4. Please pray for the Lord to continue to supply our many needs (as He has always done, praise Him!) and to be able to help many more lives be changed physically and spiritually in Cambodia.
